About the role:
Due to a recent retirement, there has been an opportunity to reassess the organisation's future needs and refine the role’s scope, with a strong emphasis on AML.

This is a pivotal position that will see you owning the firms AML programme, leading the second line of defence, working closely with senior leadership, partners, and engaging directly with key regulatory bodies. You will have a strategic voice in shaping the compliance approach, providing expert insights to the board, and working with the AML escalation committee. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining robust processes, staying ahead of regulatory changes, and fostering a strong compliance culture across the firm.

About you:
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AML compliance, assurance, and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to take a risk-based approach to compliance. 

A self-starter, and someone who thrives in high-pressure environments, you will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels. Your experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and procedures will be essential in maintaining a robust compliance framework.

You could currently be working in the financial services sector and looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience in a different industry or make a greater impact in a smaller organisation.

You will also ideally have: 
  • Experience and sound knowledge of assurance, AML compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to relate well with authors, clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
